Thoropass Integration

Pensar Console integrates with Thoropass to automatically sync vulnerability scanning and remediation data for compliance reporting. This integration streamlines your security compliance workflow by sending Pensar’s findings directly to Thoropass.

Prerequisites

Before connecting Thoropass, you’ll need:

  1. A Thoropass account with an active subscription
  2. Partner API access enabled on your Thoropass account
  3. Admin access to your Thoropass organization

Contact your Thoropass account manager if you need Partner API access enabled for your organization.

What Gets Synced

When connected, Pensar will automatically send the following data to Thoropass:

  • Vulnerability scans - Scan metadata including start time, completion time, and status
  • Vulnerabilities - Individual security findings with severity, description, and remediation status
  • Remediation data - Updates when vulnerabilities are fixed or resolved

Connecting Thoropass

From Workspace Settings

  1. Navigate to SettingsIntegrations in your Pensar Console workspace
  2. Expand the Thoropass section
  3. Click Connect Thoropass
  4. You’ll be redirected to Thoropass’s authorization page
  5. Log in to your Thoropass account if prompted
  6. Review the permissions and click Authorize
  7. You’ll be automatically redirected back to Pensar Console

The integration uses OAuth for secure authentication. Pensar never stores your Thoropass password.

How It Works

Once connected, Pensar automatically syncs data with Thoropass:

  1. Scan Initiation - When a Pensar scan starts, a vulnerability scan record is created in Thoropass
  2. Scan Completion - When the scan completes, the scan record is updated with results
  3. Vulnerability Reporting - Individual vulnerabilities are synced to Thoropass with full details
  4. Remediation Tracking - When issues are fixed in Pensar, the status is updated in Thoropass

This automated sync ensures your compliance reporting in Thoropass always reflects the latest security posture.

Managing the Integration

Viewing Connection Status

  1. Navigate to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Expand the Thoropass section
  3. If connected, you’ll see “Thoropass Connected” confirmation

Disconnecting Thoropass

To remove the Thoropass integration:

  1. Navigate to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Expand the Thoropass section
  3. Click Unlink Thoropass

Disconnecting Thoropass will stop Pensar from sending scan data to Thoropass. You may also need to uninstall Pensar from the Thoropass dashboard.

Troubleshooting

Authorization Failed

If the OAuth authorization fails:

  1. Ensure you have Partner API access enabled on your Thoropass account
  2. Verify you have admin access to your Thoropass organization
  3. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies
  4. Attempt the connection again

Data Not Syncing

If vulnerability data isn’t appearing in Thoropass:

  1. Verify the integration is still connected in SettingsIntegrations
  2. Check that new scans have completed after connecting the integration
  3. Allow a few minutes for data to sync - there may be a brief delay

Reconnecting After Token Expiry

If the integration stops working:

  1. Navigate to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Click Unlink Thoropass
  3. Click Connect Thoropass to re-authorize
